Todd is back....he and Riley are outside running around and I can hear her screaming (the good kind!), so I actually have some time to myself! We went to my mom's house this afternoon after church for lunch and so Riley could have a nap while I picked Todd up at the airport, and when it was time for her nap, my mom asked who she wanted to put her down- me or Grams. Of course, Riley said me...and I replied that we had been joined at the hip since Todd left....but now that he is back, she could care less about me :) She is quite a Daddy's girl....
Anyway, last weekend, while Riley and I were both fighting colds, we made out annual trek to Niven's Apple Farm for fun, animals, apples and pumpkins...what more could you ask for! We have been every year since Riley was born, and this year she really enjoyed it...I think the last few years were more for me and Todd....well, for me at least....and this year she had a great time.
We saw some animals

and Riley jumped on the tire-jumpy-thing

and went in the playhouse

and then we walked through the pumpkin patch

here is Todd enjoying the warm sun...seriously, it was at least 80 degrees...hot almost...this is October people....crazy weather

and since we have been every year, I wanted to do some comparisons....here is Riley this year as a little pig:

and this is Riley at her first trip to Nivens:

One more...Riley this year seeing how she measures up:

and Riley in 2004:

We bought some apples and some apple cider (which we are still drinking), and Riley and I made an apple pie and homemade apple sauce the next day. Unfortunately, when we got home, we both (Riley and I) crashed, slept for about 3 hours, and woke up feeling pretty bad...we spent the rest of the day in bed, and missed our play date with Karen and Laney and Madison and Morgan....well, Riley was supposed to play and I was supposed to help Karen with the kiddos...we will have to try it again some other time...if Karen can take it again :)!!!!
More pics from the apple pie baking to come....
